David Hadley Opposes SCA 5, Challenges Al Muratsuchi to Reveal Stance

Torrance, CA – State Assembly candidate David Hadley (R – 66thDistrict) announced his opposition to Senate Constitutional Amendment 5, and he challenged Assemblyman Al Muratsuchi to make his position on SCA 5 clear to South Bay voters.

“The supporters of SCA 5, including the Democrats in the State Senate who passed the measure, want to inject racial politics into public education,” said Hadley. “They are trying to overturn the verdict of the voters who voted for Proposition 209 in 1996.”

“I voted for Proposition 209 in 1996, I support it now, and I oppose SCA 5. Race has no place in determining how our students are treated by our public educational institutions.”

“Al Muratsuchi owes the voters of the South Bay his position on this important issue,” Hadley continued. “Last week, a bill sponsored by Muratsuchi was derailed by his fellow Democrats in an attempt to expose his true position on SCA 5. Al Muratsuchi needs to come out from the shadows and reveal his stance on SCA 5,” concluded Hadley.
